Some Things Are Hard to Carry Alone. You Don't Have To.
Grief that won’t lift. A heaviness that follows you into every room. A relationship where you keep having the same conversation and nothing changes.
You’ve been managing it. Getting through the days. But managing isn’t the same as actually feeling better. I’m Chris Koska, a licensed therapist at MK Counseling Services in Pittsburgh. I work with teens, adults, and seniors dealing with grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and couples who want to find their way back to each other.
I’m not a therapist who sits back and listens. I show up, I engage, and I’ll respectfully challenge you when it serves you.Â
Who I Work With
You Might Be Here Because:
My clients come from different places, but most of them are carrying something they’ve been trying to manage on their own for too long.
- Anxiety that makes everyday decisions feel heavier than they should
- A major life shift, retirement, job loss, divorce, a move, that's left you unsettled
- Depression that shows up as flatness, disconnection, or just going through the motions
- A relationship where the same argument keeps coming back and the distance keeps growing
- Grief that doesn't follow a timeline: the loss of a person, a relationship, a version of your life
- I work with teens aged 14 and up, adults, and seniors. I also work with couples ready to invest in their relationship.

My goal is to help you become the main character of your own story, not a passenger in it.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify the thought patterns keeping you stuck and start shifting them. For clients dealing with emotional intensity or relationship conflict, I use DBT and REBT to build skills for regulation, communication, and perspective. I also use Socratic questioning, not to give you answers, but to help you find your own.
Humor has a place in my sessions when it fits. Not to minimize what you’re going through, but because lightness is part of getting there.
I won’t just validate everything you say. I’ll challenge the beliefs that aren’t serving you, respectfully and directly. That’s how real change happens.
